• Carolina Handling Season of service with receipts of forklifts

    58 for 58
    Handling Hunger Together

Carolina Handling is celebrating its 58th anniversary with a yearlong campaign to help eliminate food insecurity in our local communities.

Season of Service

This summer and early fall, Carolina Handling donated and delivered 58 Raymond 8210 pallet jacks to hunger relief organizations across our territory to help lighten the load for those who receive, store and distribute thousands of pounds of food each year to feed the hungry. We are continuing our 58th anniversary celebration with a 58 for 58 Season of Service.

During the holiday season, we will donate 58 hours of service to hunger relief organizations throughout our territory that have equipment needing repair.

If your organization has a maintenance need, please complete the form to receive a free service call, parts not included. Service hours will be awarded on a first-requested basis. Once the form is completed, you will be contacted about scheduling an appointment.

  • West AL Food Bank

Having this pallet truck enables us to produce, maneuver and distribute food boxes faster, which translates into more boxes being distributed to those in need. On behalf of the 20,000+ families that we host, thank you so very much!”

-Chris Jackson, There’s Hope for the Hungry, Cumming, GA

  • Church Community Services of Scotland County

“Your gift will help us continue to provide supplemental food to those in our area who have limited resources. We currently are in our 24th year of operation, with our pantry being operated totally by volunteers with not one person ever receiving compensation for their work here. On behalf of all of us who volunteer at Gleaning House Ministries, we appreciate your support.”

    - J. Connie Bowers, Board Member, Gleaning House Ministries, Pickens, SC

  • “The efficiency and multiple use of this new asset is unlimited. We will be able to maneuver large pallets inside our panel truck, and our petite Pet Pantry Team Leader will now be able to move pallets loaded with 500 lbs. of pet food safely and with ease."

    - Allen G. Triebel, Executive Director, Gilmer Community Food Pantry, Ellijay, Georgia

  • “We’re a small nonprofit, so having the resources to purchase something like new equipment is very rare. We’re so excited for the motorized pallet jack. We’re able to unload trucks and get things moved around the pantry so much easier.”

-Sarah Ann Bannister, AIM, Anderson, South Carolina

  • Giving Back Together

The organizations that received a motorized pallet jack in Carolina Handling’s 58 for 58 pallet jack giveaway combine to serve 11.2 million adults and children each year throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama and the panhandle of Florida. Together, they distribute an average of 290 million pounds of food annually.

  • In our new fiscal year that began April 1, Carolina Handling turned its philanthropic focus to fighting hunger with a yearlong campaign entitled “Handling Hunger Together.”

According to Feeding America, more than 44 million people in the U.S. face hunger each year, including 1 in 5 children. In 2022, 49 million people turned to food banks, pantries and community organizations to help feed their families.

About 8 million pounds of food was collected and delivered to feeding organizations in 2023, according to Move for Hunger, with food banks in need of pallet jacks, forklifts and other equipment to move non-perishables and fresh produce. That’s where material handling companies like Carolina Handling are helping.
